Minister's Message - Summer 2018

Over the bank holiday weekend at the beginning of May, you could tell the sunshine was here. People suddenly went from warm jumpers to T-shirt and shorts; lawn mowers moved into action; you could smell BBQs; you could hear talking and laughter as friends and family gathered outside. Something in the air had changed! 

Something in the air changed as the Holy Spirit was poured out into the believers. This group of men and women, from all walks of life, suddenly found a new voice, a new strength, a new passion for evangelism and so many were added to their number. 

"… They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common … Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. and day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved."

The Holy Spirit is still at work in you - the believers of today. As this summer season brings a change in the air so also let us allow the Holy Spirit to affect our lives. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to move us so that the inclusive love of God is reflected in the way we respond to others and so as to make a difference in their lives. The Kingdom of God will keep on growing. 

This summer season may you be blessed with the opportunity to be still and rest. May you be blessed with the opportunity to show the love of God to those you meet at home or away. 

The Blessing of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit be with you now and always. Amen.
