We are a Fairtrade Church

fairtradelogoWe use Fairtrade tea and coffee after services and in all meetings for which we have responsibility. Where we can, we use other Fairtrade products such as sugar, biscuits and fruit. We promote Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight and during the year through events, worship and other activities whenever possible - like in this article!

Fairtrade means fair prices for farmers in the developing world. When farmers sell on Fairtrade terms, they get a sustainable price and a premium to invest in their communities.

Millions of farmers and workers who produce food for our first meal of the day miss out on breakfast themselves. Four fifths of the world’s coffee is produced by 25 million smallholders living on less than £1.50 a day.

Stop thinking Fairtrade is expensive. Buying Fairtrade doesn’t have to cost more and most major retailers stock Fairtrade produce. Look out for the Fairtrade logo.
