Easter Sunday 12 April 2020

Dear Friends
He is Risen ! Alleluia!
Whilst we cannot meet together at Church for Easter Day due to the  current physical distance restrictions, we can join together as one worldwide Church to proclaim the wonderful message. He is Risen!
If we were at church we may well be singing the words of the wonderful hymn by Fred Pratt Green – but today you can either read the words aloud or hum or sing wherever you are. The words at this time of challenge become more powerful and I am sure can guide our thoughts and prayers,

This joyful Eastertide,
What need is there for grieving?
Cast all your cares aside
And be not unbelieving

No work for him in vain,
No faith in him mistaken,
For Easter makes it plain
His kingdom is not shaken:

Then put your trust in Christ,
In waking and in sleeping.
His grace on earth sufficed;
He’ll never quit his keeping:

Come, share our Easter joy
That death could not imprison,
Nor any power destroy,
Our Christ, who is arisen!

Whatever you are  doing today, do so in the knowledge that the risen Lord is with you.

Please continue to pray for all those affected by Coronavirus and their families and pray for those who have lost their lives and for comfort for their family and friends in their grief.
We continue to be thankful for the wonderful work of those who strive to keep us safe during this time and for those who offer care, comfort or support to us all.
