AJ on ... hands

‘I have a question for you.’
            ‘OK.’
‘What is the first thing that comes to your mind if you hear the word “hands”?’
            ‘Erm?’
'Yes, I know it is an unusual question to ask but humour me. What is the first thing?’
            ‘Um’
‘Exactly! Not easy, is it?’
            ‘Er.’
‘OK, hands up those who thought ... oops ... sorry ... it just slipped out ... aha ... so there is one example.
We can raise hands in the air.’
‘Next question.’
‘Um, how many questions do you intend to ask? I’m kinda busy.’
‘Not many.'
'Plain sailing from now on, actually.'
'Next question is why?’
            ‘Why what?’
‘Why raise your hand?’
            ‘I don’t know.’ (disdainfully)
‘Why would you raise your hand?
'When would you raise your hand?’
‘Please sir, may I leave the room?’ (sarcastically)
‘That’s a good example. You’re thinking now. Another example please!’
            ‘All those in favour ...’
‘Oh that’s a great one! All those in favour! Yes! And another one please.’
            ‘Waving to someone.’
‘Waving to someone,’ (slowly). ‘When would you say that?’
            ‘Waving someone goodbye.’
‘Yes ... and ...’
            ‘Waving at someone.’
‘Let’s concentrate on that.
'We tend to wave our hands to greet someone, or signal someone’s attention.
'That is exactly what I will now ask you to do!’
‘You want me to wave at someone? Whatever for?’
‘Not at one person, no.’
            ‘Well, what then?’
‘I would like you to join me in a Wave.
            ‘A Wave.’
I would like you to join me in a Wave of Hope.
            ‘Hope.’
‘I would like you to wave at leaders of government. I would like you to wave and send them a message.’
‘Message.’ (just copying with little understanding)
‘Let’s be honest, neither of us are a Greta Thingy or Sir David Whatshisname so it is perfectly natural to feel you are unable to do anything when it comes to making your voice heard on the world stage. Not by yourself, no, but collectively we can shout!’
‘Go on, I’m listening. What am I supposed to shout about?’
‘Not shout. Wave! Be part of the Wave. Be part of the Wave of Hope.'
'Be part of a message. You’ve got this far so hear me out.’
'Go to: https://crackthecrises.org/wave/ or simply just click here.
Take a look and see if you can give a wave.
A wave of hope.
I’m waving at you.'
